Psychology of Recovery from Injury

Myles Englis, PhD, CMPC is a former collegiate and professional soccer player. As a former soccer player, now avid runner, Myles understands the challenges that come with sport. Whether your interests are performance enhancement, managing setbacks, mental skill cultivation, coping with an injury, or leadership development, Myles has experience working in each domain.

Athletes are often seen as machines expected to do a job, but Myles’ philosophy is rooted in a human-first approach with the intention of helping individuals perform their best on and off the field, court, ice, and everything in between. Myles takes time with each client to understand the impact of various life experiences in order to best tailor sessions and interventions. No session has a script, as they are all custom to the athlete. Myles believes that athletes learn best when they are active in the performance consulting process. Think of it like a golfer and a caddie. His goal is to assist athletes in developing skills that will serve them in competition, but more importantly, in life off the field.
